All facilities are located on the University of Birmingham’s beautiful Edgbaston campus, which is just three miles from the main city centre. The campus has an abundance of facilities on site including food stores, cafes and coffee shops – and it even has its own art gallery and museum. All of this is easily accessible by the University’s own railway station (called ‘University’ station).
The squash venue is within the University’s new Sport & Fitness club, where participants will also enjoy complimentary membership of the 200-station gym and 50m swimming pool. The building opened in May 2017, in addition to international-standard hockey pitches, a 3G pitch, and ten netball and tennis courts. The University will also host hockey and squash for the 2022 Commonwealth Games, making the University the perfect place to host international Championships. The green, leafy campus is situated close to the centre of Birmingham where you can find fantastic restaurants, world-class shopping, canal-side bars and plenty of activities to entertain the family, if you’re having a break from playing or watching squash. Check out our Twitter for some ideas of things to do in the city.
Accommodation for players and team officials is at the University of Birmingham’s new Bournbrook residences, which is just a five minute walk from the squash venue. All rooms are en-suite, in clusters of between four and seven rooms, with a shared kitchen and lounge in each flat. All dining and social areas are in the adjacent Brooks’ sports club, which has its own bar, clubroom and Starbucks. These rooms are available to book on our website, using the button below.
