Food / Catering

Food will be provided as part of the accommodation. However if you would like to try other cuisines, the University of Birmingham has various food outlets on campus. You can find a list of those here

Birmingham is the only English city outside London to have three Michelin starred restaurants: Simpson’s in Edgbaston, Adam’s in the city centre and Purnell’s which is also in the city centre. The Balti, a type of curry, was invented in the city, and has received much acclaim for the ‘Balti Triangle’. The mini guide to the Balti Triangle can be found here

The Visit Birmingham website has great recommendations on many food outlets in Birmingham and the surrounding area that cater to all tastes.

Airport: A shuttle bus will be provided from Birmingham International Airport and from Birmingham New Street train station.

Train : The University has a dedicated train station, located at the Westgate entrance to campus. Up to six trains an hour depart for the University on the cross-city line between Redditch / Longbridge and Lichfield. Sport & Fitness is a ten minute walk from University Station.
