Arriving at Birmingham Airport

Airport: A shuttle bus will be provided from Birmingham International Airport and from Birmingham New Street train station for all athletes and officials.

Train : The University has a dedicated train station, located at the Westgate entrance to campus. Up to six trains an hour depart for the University on the cross-city line between Redditch / Longbridge and Lichfield. Sport & Fitness is a ten minute walk from University Station.

Bus: Numbers 61, X62 and 63 travel to the University of Birmingham Edgbaston campus. Sport & Fitness is located by the Southgate entrance to campus. The services all run frequently from the city centre.

Arriving at Manchester Airport

Option 1 – coach transfer
National Express coaches from Manchester Airport are direct to Digbeth Coach station. They take approximately 2.5 hours and are direct.
Option 2 – train
Trains from Manchester Airport go directly to Birmingham New St and take around 2 hours. Trains on the Cross City Line go to University station every 10 minutes during peak time from Birmingham New St.

Arriving at Heathrow airport

Option 1 – coach transfer
National Express coach takes between 2.5 hours and 4.5 hours depending on service chosen. Most services direct to Birmingham Coach station which is centrally located. Some services change either at Milton Keynes or London Victoria.

Option 2 – train
Train service is quicker (takes around 2.5 hours) but requires more changes. Heathrow Express service to London Paddington then underground to Euston which requires a change at Oxford Circus so might not be preferred option if carrying heavy bags.

Arriving at Gatwick Airport

Option 1 – coach transfer
Fastest coach service is 4 hours with some taking upwards of 5.5 hours. Most also change at London Victoria so not direct.

Option 2
Train takes 2.5 hours. Train service from Gatwick to Victoria then underground from Victoria to Euston which is on Victoria line so no underground changes required.
